Jenny and Devan planned their authentic Austin wedding all the way from Australia! They had their ceremony in a quaint rural church, then invited guests to Freedmen’s restaurant for the first part of their reception. Freedmen’s is a “laid-back lounge, beer garden, and smokehouse serving barbecue and retro-inspired cocktails in an historic Austin building”. This central Austin landmark was built in 1869, and has been a residence, church, publishing house, and grocery over the years. The adjacent rustic outdoor space fit Jenny and Devan’s style just right; DJ Nick served up the tunes as guests dined on barbecue and banana pudding. The wooden dance floor saw lots of action as the night went on. We loved working with Mandy Millican of Modern Whimsy to craft Jenny and Devan’s perfect Austin wedding night!
